Was gonna take this off, it's been on here more than a year now but since the concert at Giant's Stadium ON MY BIRTHDAY WAS SO F*ING AWESOME, I decided I'll leave it up there for a bit.

Back in the saddle...
and it only took a year and forty-five days. Whooda thunk my beautiful perfectly perfect baby girl (she kinda looks like she does in the sonogram below right?!)
It's like going number two. It comes rushing in whether you like it or not and sometimes it takes a while Sometimes it happens so fast you're not sure it did happen. Sometimes it's cathartic. Sometimes it's painful. But for now...it keeps on coming.
I've written three new poems. For each of those, I've lost a dozen to my daily commute, Bumble, 7 consecutive loads of laundry, my career, my libido...my life. It's also been the best year and forty-five days...of my life.

My pen and paper take a backseat to the Bumble
You'd think that with all the emotionality, hormones and various ups and downs of impending motherhood that my creative juices would be overflowing...alas, it is not so. I've been trying to write but am having enough trouble just remembering where I left my keys in the morning. They call it baby brain. But look at our beautiful Bumble...I can hardly think about anything else.

So I've been away a while...LET me tell you why:
1. February 08 - Had a GREAT Valentine's day!
2. March 08 - This is first time I've ever LOVED a double negative (I said it was a GREAT Valentine's day didn't I?)
3. April 08 - Meet...the Bumble...
4. May 08- So...here I am...headed to the OB/GYN today with my babydaddy. I'm 15 weeks in, two bra sizes up (ugh, never mind my clothes), mad mad madly in love, fast approaching 40 and can honestly say I have never ever been happier.

Lucky for me, my office overlooks Broadway and we had the greatest view of Big Blue's Parade today!! I would like to thank the New York Giants for showing Mr. Brady that NOBODY'S PERFECT! GO BLUE!!!

Candace Bushnell: Lipstick Jungle
My sister brought this to me recently and I gobbled it up mostly because I hadn't read a book since "Breastfeeding Sucks". I wanted to like it. I'd never read her before but like most red-blooded American Women I LOVED the HBO series (well...the first 2 seasons anyway). It was a vapid and ridiculous. I've worked in NY's Financial District for 20 yrs. I've met a lot of professional powerful women who seem to have it all. None of them are like these women and none of them have such ridiculous names like Nico O'NeillyPaul Kurtz: Free Inquiry Magazine
Ok so this is not the actual magazine pic but I figured it's a great substitute. I love this brainy magazine for secular humanists. I am a lapsed Catholic who would call herself a pantheist and I sometimes have to read these articles twice to understand them. I've been subscribing to this magazine for years.
Oh it's Grand alright!
- These were taken on my first visit inside the Grand Canyon. I've dreamt of that all my life. It was no less awesome and jawdropping as I expected it to be. We were celebrating my sister's 30th birthday in Vegas at the time and I wanted to surprise her with something special. A champagne brunch in the Canyon via helicopter. Amazing.
